Intellect..Chris Rock's view on Bill Clinton

It just so happened that Bill Clinton and Chris Rock where on the David Letterman show on the same night. So since Bill Clinton was first you know Chris Rock had to respond to how the interview went. Hilarious...just classic Chris Rock. Gosh I miss his comedy.

Intellect..Oops Did I Say That?!?!

After reading a article on CNN yesterday, for the first time I think Obama had a mouth fart.
While in Lebanon, Ohio, Obama these comments to say..

“YOU KNOW YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG, BUT IT’S STILL A PIG. YOU KNOW YOU CAN (CHEERS) YOU CAN YOU CAN, WRAP AN OLD FISH IN A PIECE OF PAPER CALLED CHANGE, IT’S STILL GOING TO STINK AFTER 8 YEARS. WE’VE HAD ENOUGH OF THE SAME OLD THING. IT’S TIME TO BRING ABOUT REAL CHANGE TO WASHINGTON.”

Some are saying that the pig reference was directed to Sarah Palin. CNN is saying that it was in response to McCain for suggesting he can change Washington. The McCain campaign has already already called Obama’s comments a “disgrace” and demanded he apologize to Palin.

Well, minutes after the call, anyone with google was finding quotes from politicians of all stripes using that term – even McCain used it against Hillary Clinton once. I personally think that he was directing the comments at the McCain campaign as a whole, but this quote can easily be taken out of context.

In this case pulling into to the times were everything you say is so important in this political race, Obama could have done without the pig comment, and just went with the fish one and it would have been just as impactful.

UPDATE** Here is Obama's response to the controversy..

What do you think, did Obama have loose lips that day? Or is the media once again making a big deal out of nothing? Hit me up and let me know.

And while were on Obama, I have a mother, and a brother that have gone above and beyond for the Obama campaign. Here is the video of the "Women for Obama Rally" in Oklahoma City.. It's edited by my bro's media company Quinvest (What up Q!). He does a great job with the footage and it truly makes me want to make a difference in my community. (So, Please take a sec to see the the tremendous efforts of these women)
What was the last thing you did for this political movement or your community?

Sports..Intellect..Governor Barkley? Umm..

Former NBA star and TNT sports analyst Charles Barkley attended the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday and answered five questions for CNN.com at the CNN Grill. Here are some of his responses..

On why he's in Denver?
Barkley: I just wanted to be here. I'm just so excited. I never thought in my lifetime we'd have a black man with a legitimate shot of being president.

What do you think the Democrats need to do here to win the White House?
Barkley: I think they've got to just make sure to get those troops home from Iraq, that's a big deal. But No. 1, we've got to give poor people a chance. America is divided by economics, and we as Americans, we've got to do a better job of supporting poor people.

And the question that knocked my socks off...

Are you running for governor in Alabama?
Barkley: I'm planning on running for governor. I can't screw up Alabama. Politics, it's just so important, and I just want to do good things with my name, and I'm just going to keep continuing to do that.

Hold Up...Wait, wait, wait. I am I the only person that thinks there is something wrong with Charles Barkley running for governor. The political cartoonists' already called and said..Ha..he's waay too easy. Charles said in a Playboy article earlier this year that he would run..but most thought he was just making conversation. Plus, who doesn't love his humor and his knowledge on the game of basketball, but it would be really hard to take him seriously. I guess he's serious.
Another thing is I know that everyone deserves a fresh start but, for the state of Alabama, don't you think there is a little conflict of interest knowing his past issues with gambling? Plus, if, and that's a BIG IF, he was elected, who's going to replace him on TNT? I could not see that trio working without him. Charles was the only post-athlete that I can truly say was built to commentate on their sport.

Maybe I rushing too soon to judgement, but maybe I've made some good points. It would be some-what entertaining to here why he really wants to run for governor, and what he is going to come with to prove he should win.

What do you think? Should Barkley be in politics are should he keep on the hardwood..Hit me up and let me know.

Intellect.. More Than A Woman

Democratic National Convention: Day 1

So, I going to give you a little insight on what the happs were during the convention and my opinion of what was relevant.

Ted Kennedy spoke tonight, and barely left a dry eye in the house. Obviously, the show stopper was Michelle Obama. She truly gave an inspirational speech.

Statements that stood out with me:

"All of us are driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won't do-"

"And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them."

"They'll tell them how this time, we listened to our hopes, instead of our fears. How this time, how this time, we decided to stop doubting and to start dreaming. How this time, in this great country -- where a girl from the South Side of Chicago can go to college and law school, and the son of a single mother from Hawaii can go all the way to the White House -- that we committed ourselves, we committed ourselves to building the world as it should be."

I feel that just like Barack has a quality that inspires, she has a quality that inspires. To say that you can't do it ALL in such a way to make you feel that tomorrow is what your are waiting for..to change everything. I can say her speech will forever be remembered by me and others. So take a moment to think about yourself and figure out how you will make your mark on tomorrow...

Hit me up and tell me what you thoguth about the DNC tonight..was it what you expected. Was there something that stuck out in your mind?

Intellect.. 2nd Place Winner?

So just to school some of you who don't know, the Democratic National Convention will be coming up on the 28th of this month. This reason I mention this is because Hillary Clinton has recently on announced that even though Barack Obama is the presumed Democratic candidate, she will put her name on the ballot at the Convention...

The crazy thing is I'm not surprised by the news that she's on the ballot, I was surprised she actually had the kahunas to do it. Long before Hillary and Barack were the candidates that mattered a friend and I had a discussion about how the end was really gonna play out. Let me paint the picture for you..

So of course, it was going to come down to John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama. Then we took John Edwards out of the picture because his wife talked to much, and ultimately he had his opportunity at a presidential run, as well due to his wife's illness he didn't spend enough time on the campaign trail. So, with it down to Hillary and Barack, my friend said Hillary I said Barack, but he has to win it before the convention, then I thought about it..and realized they are going to try to pull something off crazy. And now it's staring us right in the face.

If the delegates all of a suddenly have some kind of epiphany about Hillary and decide to go with her they actually can mess a lot of things up for Barack. My thing is people don't normally jump off bridges unless the have a parachute. MSNBC commentators said she wouldn't get any votes because of what the delegates have to be accountable to their constituency. But the delegates have the right to change their minds. Like I said, Hillary wouldn't put her name on the ballot if she didn't have a plan.

When all is said and done, Barack is still going to when the nomination, but more delegates than you think will vote for Hillary, and that's just the bottom line. I personally, think that in her mind she wants it all and will sell her soul to the devil to get it. She is like that bug you squashed and spllattered with your show, and ten minutes later somehow ends up taking a walk in your shower or sink. Relentless. Hillary wants everyone to know how relevant she is to politics right now and that's what's soo sad about this situation. How would she feel if Barack did that to her?

So that's kind of how I feel about it. What do you think, do you think Hillary will steal some of Barack's delgate votes..Is she being a sore loser or is she just trying to get what's her's in these historical political times? Drop me a line and let me know.
