Sports.. Goodie Bag

Bring out the backup quarterback Tennessee.. According to ESPN. The mother of Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young said he's "hurting inside and out" and indicated he might not want to play football any longer.
Felicia Young said in Wednesday editions of The Tennessean that her son is tired of all of the negativity he's faced after being booed during a 17-10 win Sunday over Jacksonville.

I personally feel that he just had a bad game and needs to fight through it, but moms are most of the time right. Read the Full Story.

Another QB has alos bitten the dust..I tell ya I have never seen so many QB's get injured or bee just slightly off in one season. Anyways, 49er's high-price QB is done for the season and could possibly never play another game again due to another shoulder injury. Read the Full Story.

The Former Seattle Sonics basketball that was recently moved to Oklahoma City now has a team name. The Oklahoma City Thunder. Not bad right? "It's very unique," said Mason, a former Oklahoma State forward who the Thunder acquired in an offseason trade with Milwaukee. "It's going to take some time getting used to, just like Utah Jazz or Orlando Magic, but I think it's a great thing for the state and a great thing for the city."

Well I'm definitely looking forward to their play this season. Read Full Story.

And less than 24 hours after Indianapolis Colts starting defensive tackle Ed Johnson was arrested on a drug possession charge early Wednesday, the team said it would waive him. Colts president Bill Polian said the team would waive Johnson Thursday. He said the Colts consider every violation of a team rule or NFL policy on a case-by-case basis."

Johnson was pulled over for speeding and arrested for marijuana possession. Polian said Johnson was repeatedly told that during the offseason, and was reminded as recently as Tuesday of coach Tony Dungy's rules of behavior."Unfortunately, he chose to violate those rules," Polian said Read Full Story.

Sports..Goodie Bag

I had to get you started for this exciting weekend..so I hitting ya with one more sports goodie bag..

First..Here's some funny video from Team USA, shot the day before they left for China, this must-see video from Chris Bosh is a quick, candid and entertaining look at what it's like to sit down for some Wendy's with Deron Williams, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and LeBron James. Honestly, when was the last time you rolled into a San Francisco gas station and stumbled upon five of the best hoopsters on the planet? Such scenarios just do not happen all that often. My other question was have they not ever been to a Travel gas station?

LeBron James: "Man, you get a burger, get you some gas, and get you some coffee then stay on the road for another five hours in this joint.

"Chris Paul: "... and some Slim Jims ...

"Deron Williams: "I'm from Dallas ... I eat Rudy's ..." (Rudy's is a famous fried chicken place in Dallas)

I mean if I hung out with some b-ball players, these guys would be the ones. It's crazy cause even though it 40 seconds of video, they had me rollin' .

So in case you didn't know Serena beat Venus Wednesday in two tie-breaking matches, 7-6,7-6. She plays Dinara Safina today.

The excuse "us" quote comes from Serena when she was doing an interview after the match..

Q. There's the No. 1 position at stake for at least three girls in the tournament now. Is that an extra motivation?
SERENA WILLIAMS: Yeah. Honestly, I really would just like to win the tournament with or without the ranking. Believe me, I'm going to be No. 1 sooner or later.

Well, okay then, but Serena definitely got that spice, so anytime she comes to the mic she always says something you didn't expect her to say.
Click on the pic for video and interview highlights..

And in NFL news, the NY Giants beat the Washington Redskins 16-7, in the season opener Thursday.

Sports..Goodie Bag..Must See TV!

First off all, I just wanted to let ya'll know that I apologize for not updating you guys on the football this weekend. You know how it is when your my hosts the family for the holiday weekend..that means you have to do as much work as she does. It was definitely fun yet exhausting...

But anyways, I'm giving you the rundown of what's going on in sports, since there is soo much going on right now...You know how the goodie bag goes.

So the Williams sisters are playing each other for the 1oth time tonight @ 7pm in the quarterfinal for U.S. Tennis Open on USA.

(Singing Together now) Are you ready for some football!!!! Okay, enough of that, The NFL season officially kicks off tomorrow (Thursday) with the NY Giants and the Washington Redskins taking center stage..you best believe I'll be sitting in front of the tube for this one..

And I know you thought the NBA was long gone at least for about 6 months, but the season is truly only two months away.. ESPN did some early polling picks about the next MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Future worst player. The list is pretty interesting... take a look at it
HERE.

LeBron James and Chris Paul take the spots for top MVP picks, Baron Davis and Jermaine O'Neal got the spots for worst newcomer this year. Also, Micheal Beasley grabbed the #1 spot for the Rookie of the year (Miami Heat)..along with hometown team homie, Russell Westbrook repping the new Oklahoma City team.

I think the voters did a pretty good job on this list, what do you think? Hit me up and let me know. Oh, if there there is something that you want this knowledgeable lady sports fan to be talking about or something I should know, hit me me as well.

Also a very insightfull story from one of my favorite ESPN Sports writers, Jemele Hill, on football players playing through the pain.. "Any Given Sunday" is truly a real-life story complete with consequences.. Read it HERE. My question to all, is how much would you be willing to sacrifice for your career. I try to keep these things in prospective, if I had my dream job, would I scarifice my health for it? I don't know, but if you play pro sports the smartest thing you can do is create another avenue for yourself so that your health will never be a bargaining tool to put on the table. What do you think..Is Shawne Merriman doing a little too much gambling with his health and career? See Shawne in play on Sunday, in San Deigo.

I thinks that's about it for now..I will be at the O-State vs Houston game this weekend, but I will be putting you for all the games and scores so no worries.

I like to say that in most cases the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right" means "Two wrongs means no ones right", this is especially applies to the newly traded Ron Artest to the Houston Rockets and the relationship (or lack there of) with Yao Ming.

According to a recent article on
ESPN when asked about Ron's past Yao responded with "Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands," Yao said. Take notes:

Mistake 1 (Yao): Yao shouldn't have flipping off at the mouth..what happened to his media training? He knows better.

So of course, Ron Artest always being himself responded saying "I understand what Yao said, but I'm still ghetto, That's not going to change. I'm never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he'll understand what I'm about."

Culture meaning going into the stands and throwing bows, getting suspended? Just a question.

"If you go back to the brawl, that's a culture issue right there," Artest added, "Somebody was disrespecting me, so he's got to understand where I'm coming from. People that know me know that Ron Artest never changed."

Mistake 1 (Artest): Artest definitely knows better about flipping off at the mouth.
Mistake 2 (Artest): That brawl, both parties were in the wrong: culture had nothing to do with it. (Alcohol and Tempers were the source in that)

Ron also went on to say that Yao Ming has still failed to call him to welcome him to the team. I definitely since a Shaq and Kobe situation minus the athletic talent of course.

The moral of the story is that this could have all been prevented if Yao and Artest would just shut up. That's why there's publicist's, I know these two don't get the spotlight much. But please do us a favor, stick to playing basketball only. Thanks.

I usually try not to post on the same thing in a row but, this morning I was truly enlightened on the sports front. So, I'm in Philly on vacay and I had a 2 hour conversation about sports with my Uncle Charles which lead me to write this post cause I can't let these jewels fall by the wayside. So without further a due...In commemoration of my Philly vacation I give you.

The Top 5 Worst Philly trades:
(truly according to Suga HiL)

5. Raja Bell

4. Charles Barkley

3. Moses Malone

2. A.I

1. T.O.

If you don't know who these people are pull yourself together and go watch ESPN, and google these players with mad skills. Also, I could have chose to go on-and-on but I'm on vacation. Philly needs to get it's ish together on the athletic front and return to becoming one of the best sports cities. Think I got wrong, probably not but, hit me up if your crazy enough to think I got it wrong.

Well guys, the NBA is offically coming back home to Oklahoma City. The formerly known Seattle Supersonics will be playing in the Ford Center as soon as next season.

The details of the deal include the owners to pay 45 million to Seattle now and a additional 30 million if Seattle doesn't get another team in the next five years..

Seattle owner Clay Bennett has decided to leave all Sonic banners and "official" at Key arena. Oklahoma city will be completing starting fresh to give their team and new name and brand. They are also looking forward to getting two #1 draft picks Russell Westbrook and D.J. White when the team opens summer league play.

"Personally, I didn't think we would move this soon," Durant said. "I settled in Seattle, bought a house with my mom, we moved out there with my family. That was my home. But it's a part of the business. We've got to get up and move. I'm looking forward to playing in a new city with new fans and we'll see what happens."

Kevin, I personallly think it's a good move. Any city that is not willing to take advantage of their professional fanchise should have the option to move to another city. Then you will learn how to appreciate what your city has or doesn't have. Just take a look at the Hornets..now we are not planning to give back this new team, but that's why we are giving you guys all this money.

Maybe I'm harsh, but I'm thinking not. What do you think?

According to the NBA, here are the top-selling jerseys as follows:
Are we really surprised?

Kobe: America's favorite player.
A.I: The player that doesn't show up to practice but still can command the floor every game.
LeBron: I call him "Mr. Showtime".
Chris Paul: "Mr. Fastest Come Up Ever".
K.G: "Mr. Underated till now".

Is your favorite player's jersey on the list, if not, tell me who they are and why?

Here's a little basketball humor. Enjoy!

Hey yall,
I guess you heard that the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship title. And since I'ma about it all.. I have to speak on it. I'm ok with the Leprechaun’s winning...but did the Laker's have to go out like some punks. I personally turned the game off at 10:00 p.m. because it was simply pathetic to be getting paid that much and play like some wimps. I think it was the third quarter and the Celtics were still up by like 30 points. Even though I respect the Celtics for their all around game of defense and offense I thought the NBA had more to offer than a blowout Game 6. Even when MJ and Pipen were doin’ it up, the opponent still came with a fight to the best of their abilities. It was still entertaining. After all they are ball players. The United States best. The crazy thing is, my fam and I had a heated debate over if the championship was fixed, and all my standing up for the Lakers went down the drain. At the end of the day, I just thought that they had more heart than what the came with. Which leads me to the question….Do you still think that the talent of this year’s Championship teams was worth watching? I have always been a fan of the game but had I known it would end like this, I would have spent more time studying for my GMAT and getting some sleep instead of watching all 51/2 games.
