Sports.. Olympics Recap

Alright guys, I'm back with the Sports Goodie Bag, and this one will detail what's going on in the Olympics Day 5/Recap.

Last night Phelps won one more Gold medal; this one for the 200m medley. I think I can officially say that any race that Micheal is in, he'll win the Gold medal.
The U.S Women's gymnastics team who I told needs to get they minds right..fell apart during the last two rotations of the final. They had the opportunity to capitalize on China's mistakes on the High Beam but they as well made mistakes plus some they could not afford on the Floor rotation. So they ended up with a Silver medal, which is good, but you just should have seen the way they fell apart. My heart goes out to them for a loss like that.

Today you can look forward to more Micheal Phelps winning Gold medals. Also, the Individual Gymnastics finals start today, which could be really interesting. I'm sure China will be all in the mix seeing that they took both Team All-Around gold medal for gymnastics.

For those boxing fans you can also look forward to quite a few match-ups tonight. I will be watching most of it but tonight is definitely not one of those "action days". But, I'll keep you updated.

NOTE: Post Update to Aaron Rodgers Pre-Season Debut
Like I had predicted Aaron Rodgers didn't have his A game face on, it was more like his B- game face. Final score Bengals 20, Packers 17. I have to admit he did a lot better than I thought he would do. We will see if he can take the real heat when the season starts.

Music.. Artistry with a Champion Spirit

So keeping the Olympics in mind I had to post the new video by Kanye West "Champion". Not only do I love the song, I love the creativity and thought behind it. No matter what people say about Kanye he always plays to his creative A game and I can appreciate that a lot more than some video hoes. Enjoy the vid!

Sports.

With all the sports overload lately, I really thought long and hard on whether to do Olympic updates and what not. So, for your reading and entertainment pleasure..I have decided to do some recap/daily posts about whats going on at the Olympics for those of you who don't have the time to see the drama unfold.

Olympics Day: 4 Preview & Update

Tonight's Prime time highlights include the Women's Gymnastics, and Micheal Phelps continued road for 8 Gold medals.

As far as the Women's Gymnastics goes, Team USA needs to get it together. They had too many mistakes during their qualifying rounds, every time I looked around they were eating the mat..I know there is a lot pressure, but your trained to do this. They are currently in 2nd place behind China going into the finals tonight.

You obviously know that Micheal Phelps has been doing his thing (unless you live under a rock). He'll be going for his 4th Gold medal in the Olympics in the 200m Butterfly. I have never seen an athlete so young, that has so much passion and heart about their sport that regardless if you like the sport or not, they make you like it.

You are now informed on what to be watching tonight, the other stuff is just filler. Track and Field is also supposed to really get started tonight, but no one worth mentioning is hitting the track tonight.

Sports.

Since, the sports world is soo overloaded right now, I decided to give you a goodie bag of what's going on in the sports world right now.

Oh course, I will start with Brett Favre: According to ESPN, the Pacs offered him 25 million for 10 years to not play...If it was me..You know I'd be out. But since it is Brett Favre and he's all heart, he wants to play. So I say let the man play. Details have just recently came out that him and Aaron Rodgers are going to have an old fashion showdown for the #1 QB spot. I definitely ready for this to get interesting.
Full Details on Brett and him trying get put on again:

Moving on to Tyson Gay. He is the main dude me, and alot of ladies are checking for on the track. Oh I forget, the projected winner for the 100 m in Beijing. But, the good thing is his hamstring is on the come up.
"When I step on the line in Beijing, don't worry. I'll be ready to go"
Check Gay out 8-08 when the Olympics get started up.
Details on Gay and his hamstring

Yao, oh Yao. When I posted about the mini drama between Yao and Artest I knew there were going to be some apologies coming out. And the pudding has been posted. Yao apologized, of course. If that team ever plans to make it to the playoffs, those two have to have good chemistry. I told ya so.
Here is where all the drama came from.
Full details on the scripted apology to Ron Artest.

I can't leave you without someone getting arrested..Paul Pierce. Yep, I said it. This one is a little suspicious..I since from the story a DWB situation, along with a little attitude and a Corona. Anyways, he got arrested, was given a Breathalyzer, passed and then they let him go. Hmm.
Get the full details about the situation.

Honorable mention: Take a look at possible NBA-OKC, team uniforms. Whatcha think?

I hope I hooked ya'll up properly. Let me know.

There's just something about those five intertwined rings...

Hello, I’m About It All readers. I’m EP from Stylish Handwriting, and I’m taking over for Suga HiL today as she takes up residence at my blog. How’s it going?

In celebration of HiL’s blog being what she’s all about, I thought I’d let y’all in on one thing I am all about.

The Olympics.

I don’t know what it is about this year, but I am loving the Olympic trials. What makes it sweeter is that I simply cannot wait ‘til the athletes make it to Beijing so I can continue to watch and cheer them on.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I’ve always fantasized about becoming an Olympian. (This is the point where y’all smile and nod because who hasn’t? Especially when you were a child. Uh huh.) Childhood dreams of becoming an Olympian were quickly shattered because I was too tall to be a gymnast, too short to be a basketball or volleyball player, too afraid of the ball to be a softball player and never pursued swimming like I should have.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that my BFF’s 16-year-old cousin made the swimming trials. And while she didn’t make the team, I think it’s awesome that she was there.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that numerous athletes from my alma mater are a part of the track and field team. It never ceases to amaze me just how fast they are.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I have a crush on every male swimmer on the U.S. Olympic team. (And probably every other team there.) Hello, Speedo! It’s a shame they are wearing bodysuits now, but c’est la vie. A girl can still dream.

Or perhaps I think it is good to have something to support during this time of war we are living in. It is nice to have something to unite us, not separate us. And hopefully, these games will do that for everyone.

Whatever the reason is (I’m still not sure, obvs), I’m all about the Olympics.

And the only thing that would make them better? If the following games were included as sports:

  • red rover
  • dodgeball
  • kickball
  • whiffleball
  • Horse
  • hide and seek
  • freeze tag
  • manhunt
  • sardines
  • Guitar Hero

But I guess if these made the final “sport” list, the awe (and possibly respect) of the athletes would quickly diminish, and I’m sure the Olympics would not be nearly as impressive are they are now. I mean, how many people can run that fast? Or jump that high? Or swim like a fish? Or be ridiculously talented on the floor?

You could easily say, “Bobby, I should have made the team! You know I’m better at hiding than you!” Or “That was a lucky note streak, Sarah! Gah, I cannot believe you.”

And while I know it wouldn’t work and that there is a reason none of these games have made the cut, it’d be amusing. I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch kickball on national television just once if not to just reminisce about the times you played it in the school yard? Exactly.
