I like to say that in most cases the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right" means "Two wrongs means no ones right", this is especially applies to the newly traded Ron Artest to the Houston Rockets and the relationship (or lack there of) with Yao Ming.
According to a recent article on ESPN when asked about Ron's past Yao responded with "Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands," Yao said. Take notes:
Mistake 1 (Yao): Yao shouldn't have flipping off at the mouth..what happened to his media training? He knows better.
So of course, Ron Artest always being himself responded saying "I understand what Yao said, but I'm still ghetto, That's not going to change. I'm never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he'll understand what I'm about."
Culture meaning going into the stands and throwing bows, getting suspended? Just a question.
"If you go back to the brawl, that's a culture issue right there," Artest added, "Somebody was disrespecting me, so he's got to understand where I'm coming from. People that know me know that Ron Artest never changed."
Mistake 1 (Artest): Artest definitely knows better about flipping off at the mouth.
Mistake 2 (Artest): That brawl, both parties were in the wrong: culture had nothing to do with it. (Alcohol and Tempers were the source in that)
Ron also went on to say that Yao Ming has still failed to call him to welcome him to the team. I definitely since a Shaq and Kobe situation minus the athletic talent of course.
The moral of the story is that this could have all been prevented if Yao and Artest would just shut up. That's why there's publicist's, I know these two don't get the spotlight much. But please do us a favor, stick to playing basketball only. Thanks.

Can anybody say "Throwback Friday"? For real though, sorry for the delay in posts I'm just trying to get my life back to normal, and that is so hard to do after a vacation. So, in true throwback fashion, I have given you a gift in the form of Groove Theory--"Tell Me". Circa 1995. Amel Larrieux is still fire..gotta love her.
This song is one of my favorites that never seems to be too far out of my reach. Enjoy.

Sports.
I usually try not to post on the same thing in a row but, this morning I was truly enlightened on the sports front. So, I'm in Philly on vacay and I had a 2 hour conversation about sports with my Uncle Charles which lead me to write this post cause I can't let these jewels fall by the wayside. So without further a due...In commemoration of my Philly vacation I give you.
The Top 5 Worst Philly trades:
(truly according to Suga HiL)
5. Raja Bell
4. Charles Barkley
3. Moses Malone
2. A.I
1. T.O.
If you don't know who these people are pull yourself together and go watch ESPN, and google these players with mad skills. Also, I could have chose to go on-and-on but I'm on vacation. Philly needs to get it's ish together on the athletic front and return to becoming one of the best sports cities. Think I got wrong, probably not but, hit me up if your crazy enough to think I got it wrong.

In my opinon, I would rather have T.O. than Chad. But, I think that coaches rather have Johnson cause they don't like players who still their shine. I also feel the limelight gives room for the player not to be focused on the game.

Fashion.
So since summer is in full effect I decided to get ya some cute dresses that are in good taste and make financial sense.
1. Color-accented floral sundress with flattering sweetheart neckline spaghetti straps. I love the green in this dress. This one is definitely a steal @ Newport News for $25.oo.
2. This is a Watermelon (pink)/white ombre dress by Allen Schwartz. Twisted Empire waistcrisscross back. Pure silk chiffonlining, you can't tell me this dress wasn't meant to be a show stopper. This one is @ Nieman Marcus for $375.
3. Embellished Georgette empire dress. Glittering with sequins at the crossover V-neck. This one is @ Spiegel for $59.00.
1.Pura Vida's floral halter dress. Pure cotton is styled with colorful trim on the bodice and hem, and splashy florals across the skirt. Ties around the neck. This one is @ Sierra Trading Post for $49.50.
2. Black with Multi-colored medallion print. Deep V neckline. Empire waist. This one is @ Neiman Marcus for $250. Definitely hot.
3. Lightweight and comfortable empire-waisted cotton seersucker dress. I love this fabric, but sometimes it's hard to find in something cute. So here's the solution @ Spiegel for $39.00.
I hoped I upped your summer dress game a little bit, so know you don't have to go broke to be fashionable.

Intellect..
According to CNN, John Edwards is definitely on the short list to be Senator Obama's running mate. Edwards said that he wouldn't rule out running for VP a second time.

Sports.
Well guys, the NBA is offically coming back home to Oklahoma City. The formerly known Seattle Supersonics will be playing in the Ford Center as soon as next season.
The details of the deal include the owners to pay 45 million to Seattle now and a additional 30 million if Seattle doesn't get another team in the next five years..
Seattle owner Clay Bennett has decided to leave all Sonic banners and "official" at Key arena. Oklahoma city will be completing starting fresh to give their team and new name and brand. They are also looking forward to getting two #1 draft picks Russell Westbrook and D.J. White when the team opens summer league play.
"Personally, I didn't think we would move this soon," Durant said. "I settled in Seattle, bought a house with my mom, we moved out there with my family. That was my home. But it's a part of the business. We've got to get up and move. I'm looking forward to playing in a new city with new fans and we'll see what happens."
Kevin, I personallly think it's a good move. Any city that is not willing to take advantage of their professional fanchise should have the option to move to another city. Then you will learn how to appreciate what your city has or doesn't have. Just take a look at the Hornets..now we are not planning to give back this new team, but that's why we are giving you guys all this money.
Maybe I'm harsh, but I'm thinking not. What do you think?

It's the 4th of July..
Since it's the fourth of July, I thought I'd let you in on the top 4 reasons I love the 4th of July and the Top 4 Jams you have to play at BBQ.
Top 4 Jams:
4. "Flashlight" by George Clinton and The Parliament Funkadelic
3. "Hip Hop Hooray" by Naughty by Nature
2. "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire (Yes, I know the song is called September but it's a song for all occasions)
1. "Summer Time" by Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff
Top 4 Reasons I love the 4th:
4. The ability to display your bones game (dominoes) and severely gloat at the end.
For some I always feel that playing bones on the 4th is like playing in the Game 7 on the NBA finals. Or is it just me?
3. Water Festivities
I love to swim, but as a black woman, sometimes I am not able to. Don't act like yall don't know why. The 4th gives me a good excuse to not even care. Plus, the water gun sneak attack is purely fabulous on this holiday.
2. Catching up friends and fam.
Even Christmas can't bring together as many friends and family as the 4th does. [Why: Gifts are a major part of it] but food is the gift that keeps on giving and ties all...
Which brings me to my #1 Reason I love the 4th of July:
1. THE FOOD!!!!
Only on one day can you hit up multiple barbeque's with the all-time favorite summer foods.
Potato salad, Watermelon, Ice Cream bars...oooh I'm so ready. So get the grill hot and play the Top 4 jams and thank God for family, freedom and democracy.
Honorable Mentions:
- "Ladies Night" by Lil' Kim, Left Eye, and Missy Eliiot
- Fireworks and Sparklers! Who doesn't like pyrotechnics.

Well the ladies from Compton have done it again...Serena and Venus are back in the finals to take on each other. It makes me want to fade in Jay's "Brush your sholders off" . They did have a lot of haters.
